The World Affairs Council is pleased to announce a special “Culture through Cuisine” evening focusing on Turkey with a special guest, Sheilah Kaufman, traveling cooking instructor, food writer, lecturer, and author of 26 cookbooks, including Sephardic Israeli Cuisine and A Taste of Turkish Cuisine. Sheilah is the online food editor for Jewish Women International, the food editor for the Town Courier chain of Maryland papers, and a contributing food writer to a number of papers around the country. Sheilah is also an active member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals and Les Dames d'Escoffier International.
Please join us for the wonderful cooking of Bistro Turkuaz, located in Seattle. The night will begin with a discussion with Sheilah on the history and diversity of Turkish cuisine followed by a cooking demonstration of traditional Turkish cuisine and a delicious meal, during which guests will be able to ask questions about Turkey and its culture.
Registration includes dinner and program. Alcohol will be available for purchase.
