Help Nehir Fight Neuroblastoma

Mahmut Bayazit (Sabancı University Faculty Member) and Zeynep Erden's (Istanbul Technical University Faculty Member) daughter, Leyla's sister Nehir was diagnosed with the cancer of nervous system, neuroblastoma, two months ago. With the advancements in medicine, the chance of survival for children with this cancer is now 40%. Unfortunately, by the time Nehir was diagnosed, her cancer had already widely spread. Per her doctors' suggestion Nehir was brought to Texas Children's Hospital that is a world leader in treatment of this specific cancer.

This has been a very difficult choice as it put the parents, two teaching professionals, in a position where they need to cover all the medical costs reaching well over $500,000 themselves. You can find more information on Nehir's fight against Neuroblastoma at ATA Houston website:
