Dear Turkish Americans and Friends of Turkey,
The ninth annual Turkish Cultural Festival of Seattle, TurkFest, is in the works. On Saturday, October 17 & Sunday, October 18, 2009, we will all gather in the Seattle Center House to present and celebrate the Turkish culture through music, dance, documentaries, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, food, exhibits and a lot more…TurkFest has become one of the most successful ethnic festivals that Seattle Center sponsors as part of the Safeco Insurance Festal series.
TurkFest is an informative and entertaining event which takes months to plan and accomplish, all with the endless efforts of volunteers. The core group, also all volunteers, is committed to sharing the Turkish culture and heritage with the community at-large. The only way we can do that is with your help and participation.
We are looking for performers/participants, vendors, sponsors and volunteers. Please contact us at info@turkfest.org if:
-you have a talent and we haven’t discovered you yet.
-you have a business that sells Turkish artifacts and goods.
-you find value in our mission and would like to sponsor our festival – in any capacity.
-you would like to donate your time before and/or during the festival and join an army of highly motivated volunteers: we promise you fun, camaraderie and an unforgettable experience. High school students can earn community service hours.
-you are a Turkish American Small Business Owner and would like to advertise on our new website.
Please check out www.turkfest.org to find out how you can become involved in the festival.
Looking forward to seeing many of you on our growing team of volunteers & participants this year,
TurkFest Steering Committee
